Clearing the Air: Oceanic Clearance Removal (OCR)
The implementation of Oceanic Clearance Removal (OCR) procedures for Gander have led to some confusion among operators and an increase in flight errors affecting airspace efficiency and safety. To address these changes Robert Fleming, Manager of ACC Operations at Gander, Joe Sears, Instructor at 30West IP and Clément Meersseman, Senior Operations Advisor at Nimbl, provide an overview of the new procedures, discuss the key issues observed since the transition, and offer operators practical guidance to help improve coordination with ATC. Additionally, the panel explains how to integrate these changes into your daily operations and emphasizes the importance of reporting issues through your SMS.
